Falaah means “country-folk” or “farmer” in arabic. The people of the nile delta. It is usually very fast and often evenly filled. It is a common folk version used for dance in upper Egypt. It is usually played about twice as fast as a maksoum and therefore is often considered a 2 beat rhythm — played more slowly (as a 4) it is the walking maksoum.
